IS THIS WEBSITE (LATIN ARABIA) FOR SALE?

I have an unusual request to ask all of you who come to this site. This will cost you nothing.

I AM CONSIDERING TURNING THIS WEBSITE OVER TO A UNIVERSITY OR INSTITUTION (for free).

I have edited and run this website, https://latinarabia.com, where I have discussed the history of Arab communities in Latin America for over twelve years. I get approximately 600 plus visitors, 1200 plus views a week.

This website has become an authoritative source, even quoted in major newspapers (see below).

Source: Arabs In The Andes? Chile, The Unlikely Long-Term Home Of A Large Palestinian Community
The International Business Times
By Palash Ghosh
October 10, 2013

… the webmaster of LatinArabia.com, a website that chronicles the history of Arabs in Latin America, told International Business Times that at one point, 60 percent of all textiles manufactured in Chile were controlled by Palestinian-Chileans. …

When I started this website, the amount of information concerning Arabs in Latin America was pitifully small and limited in scope.

To correct this, I set about compiling a lot of data and information. At that time, I was a trailblazer.

In due time, however, a lot of outside articles about Arabs in Latin America started to crop up on the internet – I suspect some of these outside stores were inspired by this website.

My website covered Arabs in Latin America – and mentioned their histories, stories, and their views on the Mideast. However I studiously tried to avoid any bigotry. My chief goal was merely to provide reliable information of academic quality.

I also mentioned the concern of Jewish communities in Latin America.

Many Jews in Latin America were/are concerned about antisemitism arising out of the Mideast conflict. Chile has come under the microscope, because of it large and influential Palestinian community, which supports Palestine and which distorts Chilean foreign policy.

Oddly, Argentina’s present government is very pro-Israel, and I have pointed that out as well.

This website was NEVER anti-Zionist. I merely discussed the Arabs in Latin America, and their attitudes towards the Mideast, occasionally mentioning Jewish concerns.

But I am getting older. This theme is not the friendliest, and could use a makeover. A lot of the internal links are done by hand. Moreover, I had to modify the css on the theme. In plain terms, this site could use a makeover.

I might consider turning this website over to a college (for free). There are over twelve years of work on it, and I have been told that some of this website’s work is of academic quality – by a lady who was going for her PhD. I have lots of demographics and history on the site.

However, given today’s hostile college atmosphere, I am afraid that it might go to some woke anti-Zionist history department.

Do you know of any Jewish or Christian university (or institution) in the USA – must be American – whom I could trust with this site?

I am considering turning it over to them for free. The domain latinarabia.com is worth something alone.

All I ask is that the college (or institution) be American, and that this website not go to hostile use. In other words, I do not want it going to an anti-Israel history department to be used for antisemitism.

This site was merely about history and academic concerns.

The college or group could be Jewish or Christian, but can not be hostile to Israel.

Do you know of any colleges which be interested.’

Thanks

Incredible History of Palestinians in Chile

Incredible History of Palestinians in Chile

This is a short but very good video, if one ignores the bias. However, it takes a few seconds to load.

@themujerista The history of Palestinian migration to Latin America 🇵🇸 🌍🌎🌏 Palestinian migration to Latin American occurred in four significant waves with Chile now being home to the largest Palestinian diaspora outside of the Middle East. #palestine #chile ♬ original sound – The Mujerista

Of course, this lady seems to have a bias against Israel, but the history is good.

What is again worth repeating is that almost all of the Palestinians who moved to Chile were Christians, either Roman Catholic or Eastern Christian (Orthodox). They assimilated well, and have risen to become elites in the country.

Such is the political power of the Palestinian-Chileans – called Chilestinos – that they have distorted Chile’s foreign policy against Israel. Otherwise, Chile would be a quite typical Western democracy.

This pro-Palestinian slant has caused concern among Jewish groups around the world, as can be seen in the video, from the World Jewish Congress, below.

The Palestinian Community in Chile does not mince words.

What the picture says is: Imagine bombing 4 countries at the same time and continuing to believe yourself to be the victim.

However, the Jews are a very small population in Chile, and can do little to resist the pro-Palestinian slant.

This is not to say the government is antisemitic. It is NOT! Chile is quite democratic, but the government is swayed by a Chilestino population that outnumbers the Jews about 30 to 1.

It is with good reason that the Jews of the world keep an eye on Chile.

This is one of their documentaries on the “Naqba.”

Argentine Pope Calls For An Investigation to See If Gaza Is A Genocide

Remember that the Pope (born: Jorge Mario Bergoglio) is an Argentine, born in Buenos Aires. Hence this does bear on the subjects of Arabs and Latin America.

Pope Francis has called for an investigation to determine if Israel’s attacks in Gaza constitute genocide, according to excerpts released Sunday from an upcoming new book ahead of the pontiff’s jubilee year.

It’s the first time that Francis has openly urged an investigation of genocide allegations over Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip. In September, he said Israel’s attacks in Gaza and Lebanon had been “immoral” and disproportionate, and that its military had gone beyond the rules of war.

The book, by Hernán Reyes Alcaide and based on interviews with the pope, is entitled “Hope Never Disappoints: Pilgrims Towards a Better World.” It will be released on Tuesday ahead of the pope’s 2025 jubilee, a yearlong celebration that’s expected to bring more than 30 million pilgrims to Rome.

Needless to say: pro-Jewish, pro-Israel advocates are furious, as seen from these other sources.

Chilean President Calls For Gaza Action

Soure: Chile’s president calls for action to address humanitarian crisis in Gaza at G20 summit
by Sinan Dogan
November 19, 2024

Chilean President Gabriel Boric used his address at the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to urge world leaders to take action to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

“The grave humanitarian crisis we are experiencing today, which profoundly affects us, exposes millions of people to the consequences of war,” Boric said, referring to Israel’s ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.

Boric called for international collaboration to address inequality, migration and food security.

“The same applies to the conflict in the Gaza Strip,” he said. “We do not shy away from reiterating our position.”

Some notes to observe.

President Boric of Chile is a leftist president in Chile, where Palestinian-Chileans (Chilestinos) have a lot of political clout.

The Anadolu Agency, the source of this story, is a Turkish news agency. Turkey has an Islamic culture; and its President Erdogan is considered semi-dictatorial, and has turned Turkey against Israel. Press freedom is limited. So take that into account.
