The Israel-Palestine Issue

I agree Israel should own Judea and Samaria.
But Israel never admits that it wants all of Judea and Samaria and plays a game that it is interested in a two-state solution. Why?
Because annexation would require enfranchisement of the Arabs in Judea and Samaria – and that might be a demographic threat to Israel. So Israel has kept the Arabs under a twilight zone of martial law (military rule) for 45 years, where they are denied basic civil rightis – even before the Intifadas.
Martial Law is harsh, and it has enraged the Arabs, an already irrational and violent people. Israel has to make some hard choices and stop playing games. If Israel wants the land, then annex it. Otherwise, let it go; but make the hard choices, and stop keeping the Arabs under martial law; and victimized by bureaucratic tyranny.
I am not asking Israel to 'divide the land,' but the present situation is not sustainable.
Israel must deal with the 1½ – 2 Million Arabs in Judea and Samaria in an equitable way. Either enfranchise those willing to assimilate or pay them to leave.

I am the close to the Right Wing Zionist view, except that some of them have blood-curdling views of what to do with the Arabs in Judea and Samaria (what the world calls the West Bank). Though I support Israel, I cannot agree with such thuggery.

I do NOT think Jerusalem should be re-divided. I think it is eternally Jewish. I do, however, feel the Israelis should not be giving the Arabs a hard time getting permits to build in Israel. This is bureaucratic persecution.

I do NOT think Israel should give up Judea and Samaria (what the world wrongly calls the West Bank); but I do not think the Israelis should be tormenting the Arabs with unnecessary searches and checkpoints.

Israel says the checkpoints are there for security purposes. Indeed some are; but many times they are there just to intimidate the Arabs, to break their spirit, and convince them to leave.

I know some Arabs can be murderous, but I also think Israel mistreats the general Palestinian population; both in the West Bank, and inside pre-1967 Israel, to a lesser degree.

I think Israel never had any intention of giving up Judea and Samaria since they conquered it in 1967; but they played along because they wanted the land, but not the Arabs on it.

I agree that Israel had a better claim to the land, but they pulled tricks to expel the Arabs by bureaucratic shenanigans. For example: If an Arab went to school in a foreign country for too long, they would deny him his residency, and not allow him to return.

Israel admits it revoked residency rights of a quarter million Palestinians – Ha’aretz
Akiva Eldar Jun.12, 2012

Israel stripped more than 100,000 residents of Gaza and some 140,000 residents of the West Bank of their residency rights during the 27 years between its conquest of the territories in 1967 and the establishment of the Palestinian Authority in 1994.

Many of those prevented from returning were students or young professionals, working aboard to support their families

Stone throwers are indeed violent; and have killed people.
The media lies in portraying them as peaceful.

Some of these Palestinian Arabs had their residencies revoked; and with no nationality had no place to go. This was slow ethnic cleansing by bureaucracy. It was not as bad was what the Arabs did, but it was still not right. Not right at all.

Ultra-Right Wing Zionists would defend such a policy. I would not.

Now, I am aware of how badly the Arabs treated Jewish residents in the Arab world. These Jews should be allowed to return to the Arab world also.

However, the Palestinians were not responsible for Egyptian, Libyan, etc. policies.

Israel has a right to exist. Half the world would deny that.

Israel has a right to all of Jerusalem. Almost all of the world would deny that, except born-again Christians.

Israel has a right to all of Judea and Samaria. Only Right Wing Evangelicals and Zionist say that.

But Israel does not have a right to mistreat the Palestinians, confiscate Arab property (as often happened, and still happens), and keep them under martial law (military rule), with no vote in the Israeli government which rules over them, controlling their borders, their economy, residency permits, and lives.

I am NOT anti-Israel. Since I support Israel’s claim to Judea and Samaria, I would be considered a strong Christian Zionist. But, it is just as clear that Israel has erected a wall of laws and regulation meant to make the lives of Palestinians miserable, in both the West Bank and inside Israel.

If Israel does not want the Arabs, then pay the Arabs to leave, by offering them generous packages and residency in another area of the world – possibly South America, since the Muslims states will not naturalize Palestinians. The remaininge Arabs should be slowly enfranchised upon learning some Hebrew and a time of National Service.

Arabs must Save Jerusalem – Idiocy

Abbas: Arabs Must Save Jerusalem From ‘Settlement Monster’ – Arutz Sheva

Abbas alleges that Israel is plotting to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque; says “saving Jerusalem from settlement monster” is duty of all Arabs.

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas continues to promote the PA libel that Israel is scheming and acting to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, Palestinian Media Watch reported.

This is idiocy of the worst sort.

Jerusalem is Jewish. I many have sympathy with some Palestinians issues; but Jerusalem is absolutely Jewish.

Jerusalem is mentioned hundreds of times in the New and Old Testaments. Not once in the Quran.

Why the West indulges this idiocy is beyond me.

Maybe Israel should tear down the wall, stop withholding permits to the Arabs, and stop mistreating the Palestinians; but under no circumstances should Israel be required to split Jerusalem.

The Israelis may not be perfect; but Jerusalem is Jewish.

Another outrage?!

Mondoweiss,  a pro-Palestinian website, is reporting that the Israelis would not let a teacher cross the border, as she was taking the class on a trip to London (Click Here).  Without the teacher, the class was delayed making it to the airport;  and the class of children did not make their trip to London.

A dozen Palestinian children ‘on big adventure of their lives’ are balked when teacher is stopped from traveling – Mondoweiss
by Tom Suarez on June 25, 2013

A Palestinian head teacher leading 12 children on their way to London for a Camden Abu Dis youth exchange funded by Youth in Action was prevented by Israeli guards from crossing the border between the West Bank and Jordan yesterday, Sunday 23rd June. The group of 16 were travelling to join a UK group of the same size for a drama-based exchange during which they would be five days in Devon followed by  six days in London.

If this was done out of spite or bureaucratic arrogance1 – and that is a big if – it was sheer cruelty on Israel’s part.

Now, Mondoweiss is a pro-Palestinian board with a strong anti-Israel bias; and one has to factor that into the interpretation of the story. However, the story is probably true.

Others, even Israelis, have reported that Israel will go out of its way to make life miserable for the Palestinians, in the hopes that they will give up and leave. This may be one case in point.

Mind you, I am not anti-Israel. I am just noting that both sides play dirty.

A Handsomely made video, until you realize they are denying the right of Israel to exist. This is ugly!

What the Arabists will never tell you is how badly the Palestinians behave as well. This may or may not justify Israeli actions, on a case by case basis; but it does put Israeli actions in context.

What must never be forgotten is how barbaric Arab civilization is.   Honor killing, Female mutilation, etc.

The Arabs are even worse to each other than the Israelis are.

There is no solution here.  Neither side will give up the claim to the land.

The only option may be to pay those young people willing to leave to move to South America.  It will be expensive; but it is better than the nuclear war that will come if the nothing  is done to alter the path of both sides.

1There have been reports that Israel will deny permits to Arabs who do not work for them as snitches. Ha’aretz reported that Medical Students studying in the Eastern Part of Jerusalem were told they would have spy if they wanted permission to continue studying.

Shin Bet recruiters enticing Palestinian medical students with Jerusalem entry permits – Ha’aretz

The Shin Bet security service is trying to recruit Palestinian medical students as a condition for granting them entry permits to Jerusalem, according to two medical students at Al-Quds University pursuing internships in Palestinian university hospitals in the city.

The Shin Bet said in response that the two students’ entry permits had not been renewed for security reasons. The agency did not refer to the students’ allegations that agents tried to blackmail them in exchange for renewing their permits.

What was interesting is that the medical school students were not approached with this horrible choice until they were in their fifth year – doing their internship – forcing them to be a snitch, or abandon the four years of their lives they had already invested in medical school.

Of course, Israel will never admit this; and the catch all official reason was that their permits were denied for security reasons. But even Israel National News has conceded that Israel has refused medical treatment to those who do not snitch for them.

As odd as it sounds, Israel keeps a database on everyone. They will ask you your father’s name, your mother’s name, etc. The idea is to have total information on everyone so they can control them.

You may say it is necessary; but it is totalitarian. If any Arab does not cooperate, even if they are otherwise innocent, no permits will be given to them.

It is an effective, but ruthless way of coercing information.

What is amazing is to see how many Israelis approve of it, yet if it were done to Jews, there would be a worldwide howl.

I am not condemning Israel. Just observing that the situation is very ugly.

DT – 005 – Tango on Florida Street

They are in the Southern Hemisphere, so it is their winter.
But it rarely freezes or snows in Buenos Aires. The climate is similar to the Carolinas.

Calle Florida [Florida Street] is a pedestrian mall in downtown Buenos Aires.

It has been closed to traffic for about 60 years. Musicians and Tango Dancers perform there regularly for tips. The Palestinians, if they were brought to South America, would quickly assimilate over time. There is nothing like this in Araby. They would not know how to deal with it; and their façade of pious Arabic Islamism would eventually crumble.
