Am I really that Crazy?

The Arab side of the story

I am amazed at how both camps (both Palestinian and Zionist) hate Oslo; but for completely different reasons.

And not just Oslo.

Allison Deger, of Mondoweiss ( a pro-Palestinian website) was upset the other day that that the Jahalin Bedouins were being moved to Nu’aimah (Nueimah). –

MONDOWEISS: Israel approves construction to transfer West Bank Bedouin

Meanwhile, Israel National News (a right wing Jewish media outlet) was upset that Israel was even giving the Arabs the city of Nu’aimah, at all. (Read comments) –

ISRAEL NATIONAL NEWS: Yaalon Gives Green Light to PA City in Jordan Valley.

Both sides were upset that the Arabs should be moving to Nu’aimah, but for completely different reasons.

Allison Deger wanted the Arabs to stay in E-1 (the contested area outside Eastern half of Jerusalem); and not be forcibly transferred to Nu’aimah.

Right wing Israelis want the Arabs to have neither E-1 nor Nu’aimah.

Disgraceful government building Arab tows while destroying J

Disgraceful Israeli government building Arab tows while destroying Jewish towns and settlements. The Israeli government has already decided to withdraw from Judea and Samaria and build another Arab state there. How many more Jews need to die because of this useless, incompetent, and corrupt government?

Shlomo, Jerusalem (1/6/13)

Shlomo does not mention  that part of the reason to give the Arabs  the city of Nu’aimah is to forcibly forcibly clear Jahalin Bedouins out of E-1.   An Arab settlement of Jahalin Bedouins is being destroyed, not a Jewish settlement.  He may not even  be aware of that side of the story.

The Gods toy with men

If this were not so damnably tragic, it would be funny.

This is no possibility for peace – at all – when the same action produces the same violent rejection on both sides – but for completely opposite reasons.

I am Christian, but this looks the Greek view of the Gods of Olympus who confound men with impossible predicaments for their amusement.

If so, this is Zeus’ best production yet.

You think I am crazy when I suggest a generously re-imbursed payment to move the Arabs of Judea and Samaria to South America. Maybe so! Maybe I am nuts.

But, frankly, both sides of the Mideast debate are so thoroughly opposed to each other that my suggestion is the only possible alternative to nuclear war.

It has gotten that severe.

This is all so tragic.

Chilean Soccer Captain tours Palestine

Captain of Chilean Soccer Team "C.D. Palestino" Visits Aida Refugee Camp

Details Published on Thursday, 30 May 2013 17:07

Felipe Nuñez, goalkeeper and current captain for the Chilean fútbol team ‘Club Deportivo Palestino’, toured Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem with representatives from the Aida Center Monday.

Nuñez, 34, toured the camp with Marwan Farajeh of the Aida Center and Holy Land Trust, who spoke about the situation of Aida and many of the events that have occurred in the camp both recently and in the past. Touring with them were Nuñez’s wife, Jennifer, journalist Rodrigo Eyzaguirre, and a Spanish-Arabic translator.

Nuñez said this is his first time in Palestine, as it is difficult to travel here from Chile, because of the high cost and long distance.

He said, “I came to the camp to understand the reality of the situation and daily lives of the people here.”

The rest can be read (Click Here)

This is a few days old, but still timely. Felipe Núñez is a major star in Chile.

Chile’s Soccer Team C.D. Palestino (Palestinian Sports Club) is now a political force in both Chile, and the contested areas.

The PA Has A Trade Agreement with MercoSur

PA signs free trade agreement with Mercosur

MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay (Ma’an) — The Palestinian Authority signed a free trade agreement on Tuesday with South American trading bloc Mercosur.

Okay, this is old news I dug up, but it shows an attitude that South America has with the Palestinians. It is an official pro-Palestinian attitude that you would not see in the United States.

Mercosur is a South American trading bloc with includes Argentina, Brazil Paraguay, Uruguay, and Venuezuela.

Palestinians or Arabs?

This was preached in the United States. However, America has over 30 Million Latins; a greater population than many Latin countries.

The preacher is giving a standard Evangelical line.

The Palestinians do not exist. They are merely Arabs from somewhere else.

I understand his point. He wants to assert Israel’s right to the land. I agree with that.

However, I am not so sure you can say an invented people do not exit.

America invented itself in 1776. Mexico, Argentina, Chile, and a large section of Latin America invented themselves in 1810. Belgium invented itself in 1830.

Nations invent themselves all the time.

There was a considerable Arab population in the land before 1900. Even Jewish sources admit that. About 500,000 non-Jews.

Natural birth rates could explain most of their increasing numbers up to 1948.

Was there migration in during the Mandate period, as Joan Peters asserts? Yes; but most of the Arabs there were not immigrant stock. Joan Peters was not wrong, but she did exaggerate.

The Palestinian-Christians of Chile certainly feel they are Palestinian. They formed a soccer team in 1920 called the Palestinos – Not the Árabes, or Syrios del Sur (South Syrians). They considered themselves Palestinian as early as 1920.

That does not mean the Palestinians have a greater claim to the land than the Jews. It means only that the line of reasoning of the Preacher has its flaws.

One can say the Jews have a better claim. One cannot say the Palestinians have no claim.
