Again, Arab culture thoroughly penetrates Latin America.

Again, the Arabes are heavily Christian. Very little Muslims among them.

Bolivia, according to Wikipedia, has only about 2,000 Muslims, out of a population of 10 million. This is equivalent to 1 in 50,000 people. Or actually 0.02% Muslim.

I cannot get a good estimate for the number of Arabs in Bolivia, though obviously, they have affected the culture.

The one exception may be Argentina, but even Argentina’s Arabs are about 90% Christian; and the Muslims in the Arab Community are usually non-practicing.

Muslims in Argentina are about 1% of the population; and that may be exaggerated.

This should amaze you. As the clout of the Palestinian Community in Chile is growing, so also is the clout of the growing Evangelical community, which is very pro-Israel.

While Islam may be converting a few thousand, Evangelicalism is converting millions per year.

This is an Evangelical TV preacher in Chile who wonders if Chavez’s anti-Israel tirade is what caused God to issue a divine judgment against Chavez, causing his death from cancer.

Forgive my poor translation, but I caught the general drift.

Dispense with every idea you learned in school.

South America was Catholic.

No longer! Bolivia, Chile, Brazil, and Argentina are having massive revivals.

They may have taught you that Brazil had more Catholics than any other country on the planet.

True! But for how long?

What they didn’t teach you was that Brazil is now 22% Evangelical; and the Evangelicals are growing so fast that Brazil is expected to flip real soon.

Millions are converting to Evangelicalism.

So if you hear that Islam is growing in South America, don’t get carried away. Islam might have grown from 4,000 to 12,000 (tripling) while the Evangelicals grew by 10,000,000 over the same period of time. The numbers are misleading because there were so few Muslims to begin with.

Islam cannot compete.

I seriously believe that the Palestinians should be encouraged to move to South America. They would assimilate, and probably convert. A win/win for everyone.
