Argentina and Brazil private sectors team up to promote exports to Arab countries

With the intention of boosting exports to Arab nations, the Argentine and Brazilian chambers of commerce have established an Arab-South American Commerce Federation it was reported in Buenos Aires.

The aim is to increase both countries’ exports to the region after reaching a combined total revenue of 30 billion dollars last year, with six billion corresponding to Argentina.

This is really heating up. These regions are connected by blood as well as interests.

Mario Kirlis (1957-2023) was a world famous Greek-Argentine Musician and composer who specialized in a fusion of Arabic and Latin music.

He had played all over Latin America, the Arab world, and the rest of the world. Kirlis was sometimes pidgeonholed as a bellydance musician; but he was a true genius, with an orchestra. His music was classical in complexity.

Again, Arab culture thoroughly penetrates Latin America.

Again, the Arabes are heavily Christian. Very little Muslims among them.

Bolivia, according to Wikipedia, has only about 2,000 Muslims, out of a population of 10 million. This is equivalent to 1 in 50,000 people. Or actually 0.02% Muslim.

I cannot get a good estimate for the number of Arabs in Bolivia, though obviously, they have affected the culture.

The one exception may be Argentina, but even Argentina’s Arabs are about 90% Christian; and the Muslims in the Arab Community are usually non-practicing.

Muslims in Argentina are about 1% of the population; and that may be exaggerated.
