Two Peruvians Try An Arab Restaurant In Lima, Peru

Wow! Some sturdy Latins try out an Arab Restaurant called Arabito (Little Arab).

The restaurant is in a neighborhood (barrio) called Miraflores.

Basically, the two of them are running a food channel.

You can auto translate on YouTube.

From sources I have read, the Arab immigrants to Peru were 90% Christian. Again, we notice the emphasis on Christianity. However, I am not sure if the 10% of Arab immigrants who were Islamic have not produced descendants who did not convert to Christianity. According to Wikipedia, there are approximately 15,000 Muslims in Peru, which is far less than 0.1%.

Wikipedia’s figures are more precise, but seem dated (around 1992 or earlier), so I am more cautious in my estimates. What is clear is that the number seems very low.

The Arab numbers in Peru would be weighted heavily in favor of Christianity, probably Catholicism. Indeed, the Arab presence (Christianity or Islamic) does not seem that large in Peru at all. But it is there.

Conflict Can Only Come Of Such A Hardened Position

Conflict Can Only Come Of Such A Hardened Position

Notice that most of the images of so-called Palestine, in the short video above, are in what is today considered Israel.

The poster, Muhammed Smiry (@muhammedsmiry), wants to erase Israel. He does not even recognize that Israel exists.

He claims to be from Gaza, which may explain his hardened attitude, however …

Sad!!! Conflict will be the only result.

January 15, 2025 – Had to correct some errors. Muhammed Smiry is still on Twitter (X) at this time.

Palestino Soccer Club Is Now An International Force

Palestino Soccer Club Is Now An International Force

The documentary is subtitled in English.

This is not exaggerationg, but the Palestino [Palestinian] Soccer Club of Santiago, Chile has become world renowned. It gets involved in Mideast Politics.

NOTE: The team is regularly referred to as CD Palestino which means Club Deportivo Palestino, which means Palestinian Sports CLub.

Locally, in Chile, CD Palestino will have moments of silence before any game for any occasion when Palestinians are killed in the Mideast conflict between Israel and Palestine.

CD Palestino’s fame has spread to the Mideast, where its players are more well known that they are in Chile.

This team is well known internationally, however, there is another force in Chile … Evangelical Christians, and they are … pro-Israel. On a per capita basis they may not be as rich as Palestinian-Chileans, but there are a whole lot more Evangelicals than Palestinians.

Arabs Love South American Yerba Mate

Arabs Love South American Yerba Mate

The cultural trade went both ways. Apparently, the Arabs in Lebanon and Syria picked up a love of Yerba Mate – a South American Herbal Tea – from those Arabs who moved to South America. Word got back to the Mideast and the rest in history.

Yerba Mate grows in the subtropical jungles of Argentina, Paraguay, and Brazil, however it has become loved all over the continent – and apparently in the Mideast, as well.
