Captain of Chilean Soccer Team "C.D. Palestino" Visits Aida Refugee Camp
Details Published on Thursday, 30 May 2013 17:07
Felipe Nuñez, goalkeeper and current captain for the Chilean fútbol team ‘Club Deportivo Palestino’, toured Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem with representatives from the Aida Center Monday.
Nuñez, 34, toured the camp with Marwan Farajeh of the Aida Center and Holy Land Trust, who spoke about the situation of Aida and many of the events that have occurred in the camp both recently and in the past. Touring with them were Nuñez’s wife, Jennifer, journalist Rodrigo Eyzaguirre, and a Spanish-Arabic translator.
Nuñez said this is his first time in Palestine, as it is difficult to travel here from Chile, because of the high cost and long distance.
He said, “I came to the camp to understand the reality of the situation and daily lives of the people here.”

This is a few days old, but still timely. Felipe Núñez is a major star in Chile.
Chile’s Soccer Team C.D. Palestino (Palestinian Sports Club) is now a political force in both Chile, and the contested areas.

Posted on this site: May 12, 2017 – after original video was taken down.
This is their facebook page(Templo de Diosas).
This was from Venezuela.
Their website is down.
29 November, 2017 – Edited – Had to edit link to Facebook (FB), and also remove a second Dancer of the Day (DOTD) post concerning this group, because clearly they are not maintaining their FB page properly, and their website is down. I keep this post up, only as a relic.
May 12, 2017 – Edited – The website was down. Had to remove link. Replaced it with a facebook link, which seems up to date. The YouTube Channel is still up; but not up to date. Had to replace original video on this post with another one that was working.
South America has a history of assimilating Arabs, and assimilating them quite well.
Argentina is 9% Arab. ( Mix of Lebanese, Syrian, etc.)
Brazil is 7½% Arab. (Heavily Lebanese Christian)
Venezuela is 6% Arab. ( Mix of Lebanese, Syrian, etc.)
Chile is 5% Arab (most of whom are Palestinian Christians).
Uruguay is 2% Arab (almost all Lebanese).
Over all, about 25 million people in South America have some Arab ancestry.
It is true that most came in as Christian Arabs, but not all.
40% of Arab-Argentines have a Muslim ancestor, yet only 10% of Arab-Argentines are Muslim. This indicates a high rate of assimilation.
In our following posts on this series we will discuss costs and plans.
Source: Muslims in Argentina – Pedro Brieger
… 40% are estimated to have been Muslims or children or grandchildren of Muslims
In the end, Argentina is only 1% Muslim (if even that, probably smaller), and that number seems to be falling.
Moreover, South America is in the midst of an Evangelical Revival. The cultural influence to convert and assimilate will be even greater, today.
– May I suggest that paying the 2± million Palestinians to move to South America is doable.
– May I suggest that South America can indeed absorb the Arabs. It already has.
– May I suggest that if these Arabs came in with money, South America might accept them
– May I suggest that 2 Million Arabs in South America, a continent of 400 Million people, almost all of whom are Christian, would be statistically insignificant
– May I suggest that over time, they would convert to either Catholicism, or the emerging Evangelicalism in South America.
So, who would pay for this?
